Cassie and I first spoke over the phone and realized that we had quite a bit in common when it comes to being a mom. We were able to make a special connection through our conversation about our children. Cassie is so sweet and Darius is one of the nicest grooms I have ever worked with, so together they were just amazing. I told them how cool I thought it was that during their ceremony they referred to each other as “Babe” and bantered with each other as if no one was around watching them. It was really special to watch.
Cassie told me prior to the wedding that it would be a dream come true for Darius if she wore matching Air Jordan’s with her dress. Cassie told him that she would not for the ceremony but would put them on for the reception. She planned a surprise for him and half way down the aisle, she paused to have a friend help her out of her heels and into her Air Jordan’s. Darius returned the surprise by having each of his groomsmen search their jackets for her ring when the time came to exchange them. By the time the last groomsmen searched his jacket and successfully produced her ring, she had started to panic a little. Needless to say, both of these surprises brought a good laugh to both Cassie and Darius as well as their guests.
I am so thankful that I was a part of this day. Cassie & Darius were surrounded by friends who love and care for them. Many of their friends have been their friends for over 20 years, which is a testament to how wonderful these two people are. I wish you a very happy future, you both deserve it 🙂
