12 Month Cake Smash Session | In Home Session

It is no secret that I love cake!  But what is even better is when I get to photograph a cake smash session and the new cake taster loves cake also 🙂  This little girl had some big shoes to fill though!  I photographed her older sister (who got in on the action for this session also) a couple of years ago and there was ZERO cake left when she was done.  Ryan did not disappoint….she demolished her cake as well.

I have been photographing this family since big sis Sawyer was just a few months old and she is 6 now (man time flies.)  It is always so great when I get to see this family and spend time capturing these memories (and catching up on all the happenings.)  I am totally in love with the wood walls in this nursery not only because they are gorgeous, but because they make the perfect backdrop for photos (we did Ryan’s newborn session in this room as well.)  This time we (and by we, I mean Ryan’s super prepared, super creative mom) added some green vines and a large “R” letter and used the amazing rug that lives in this room.  This same creative mom made the cake herself also!  It was perfect 🙂  Sawyer waited patiently for her turn to help Ryan with her cake, and make the obligatory silly face (I should do a blog post on all the silly faces I have captured over the years) and it was the sweetest thing!
